About Sole Sisters Michigan

We are a non-profit organization created in 2013 to support and inspire women to overcome mental, emotional and financial barriers through the transformational power of physical activity. By setting a goal of completing an endurance event and offering community support, we help women feel prepared and equipped to both finish a race and realize their value and inner strength.

Crossing Life's Finish Lines. Together.

Fellow sisters, it’s time to put yourself first! As women, we often tend to put others’ needs ahead of our own—we work long hours, have families to provide for and other obligations that fight for our attention. Take control of your life through the power of physical activity and connection to a community of support—so you can be the best you and in turn, a better mom, friend, volunteer, associate. You are strong, capable, beautiful and independent. With the help of your fellow Sole Sisters, you’ll train and build the confidence to achieve your goals. And we’ll be there to cheer you on every step of the way as you cross each of life's finish lines.

Our Leading Sisters

We are fortunate to have an incredible team of strong, female leaders.

Vice President: wife and mother of 2 human babies and 6 fur babies. Social worker by day and social butterfly, justice warrior, and planner by night. I enjoy pouring into others, sharing in the hard stuff as well as the fun stuff because life is too short to not lean on each other for support. Sole sisters is my respite each week where I connect with my running sisters and connect with God. Quad Squad founder because I wanted to keep moving and got some sisters to ride it out with me and now they're the ones pushing me to new goals! Sole sister since 2019, board member since 2020, friend for a lifetime!

Secretary: I enjoy giving back to others & I’ve been told I have a huge heart. Running to me has been very therapeutic and helped me deal with the loss of my dad that was buried. I’ve been a part of sole sisters for a couple years now and can’t say enough about what a great group of women we have to support and empower each other.

Van Gorp

Treasurer: Thank you for welcoming me to Sole Sisters! I am inspired by the achievements of this group and I'm looking forward to helping continue and grow the community! One of my favorite messages is that "Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to FLY!

Running has been a good outlet for me in the past and though I have not been in many races recently I have completed multiple 5ks, 10ks, a 10 mile race in Chicago and the RBR 25k.
